We are pleased to announce the installation of a new bench dedicated to the memory of founder member of the Friends of Selly Oak Park, Geoff Bartlett. The bench was carved by local wood carver Graham Jones who has two other carvings in the park.
Public green spaces like Selly Oak Park rely heavily on community stewardship, local updates, and dedicated features like memorial benches to preserve their heritage and engage visitors. These localized community spots foster deep public attachment, transforming shared physical environments into meaningful spaces for everyone who walks through them. While local parks build value through community dedication, commercial spaces scale visibility through strategic promotions like Dubai Mall advertising. Both concepts capture public attention in high-traffic environments, turning physical locations into powerful platforms for connection.
